Calling all Seniors!!!

The new Senior packages are ready.  I have a special "Refer a friend" deal going on with my Seniors, and here it is:  For every friend that you refer to me, you will receive a $20 credit toward your Senior session.  Your friend must book a session for you to receive your credit.  Once we have completed their photo session, your credit will be applied to your account.

Here comes the bride.....

Ok, so not quite yet!  I had the pleasure of seeing Ms.Katie yesterday evening and taking some bridal shots.  I took their Engagement photos a few months back and now here she is with her wedding dress.  Wow!  She looked amazing!  It was late evening, so the sun had started to go down but man it was still HOT!  That's Texas summer for ya!  Despite the heat, she was a great sport.  Thanks to Katie's mom and good ol' sis on the stand-by to help out with blotting the sweat off of her face, taking shoes/boots off and on, etc.  :)
She is getting married out at the A and M Gardens in Azle, so that's where we took these photos.  If you ever need an awesome venue for an event, give this place a call.  Absolutely beautiful.  Oh....and book me for your photography.  Just kidding.  Not really.  Ha! Ha!

Katie likes her some fancy cowboy boots, so we had to get those in the picture.  Fun shoot!  Good job Katie!

Destiny!

I was out at the Fort Worth Stockyards yesterday taking some pictures for Ms.Destiny.  She is such a sweet, sweet girl and I was really looking forward to seeing her on the other side of my camera.  She will be having a big Sweet 16 Birthday bash in a few months and we were trying to get an image for her invites.  Doesn't she look absolutely beautiful?!

3-Gun Shooting Tournament

This last month I had the opportunity to attend my first 3-Gun Shooting Tournament.  Oh no, I wasn't shooting any guns.  I've only shot a few times and have told the husband that I'm ready for more practice. So we'll see what happens.  Anyway!  My husband is part of the Blue Steel Shooting Association and they were hosting this event.  I was just there to help out if they needed it, and I of course brought along my camera.  I had a great time and can't wait for the next tournament in the Fall.  Go Blue Steel!

Summer is officially here!

Both kids are out of school and I'm trying my best to keep them busy.  We got the little kiddie pools set up outside and they are having a blast.  

Beavers Bend

My husband and I took a trip to Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma.  It was absolutely beautiful and soooo relaxing!  Between both sets of parents we had awesome babysitters for the kids, so no worries there.  We've been up there a few times before and we just love going.  We rented a small cabin and I can't say anything negative about it.  It was awesome.  I spent most of the time taking pictures of course while my husband fished.  Don't get me wrong, I love to fish but I was more interested in the scenery this time.  We took a little hiking trip....or what we thought was going to be little.  About a third of the way through we noticed that we took a wrong turn.  Still on a marked trail, but not the short one we had planned on.  These trails went up, up, up and then down, down, then up, up, and well, you get the picture.  We were pooped out!  Not only that, but it started to rain on us!  Nonetheless, we made it and we had fun.  Hoping to plan another trip for the fall and take the kiddos with us.  I'm sure they'll love it just as much as we do.  Maybe next time we'll get to enjoy some horseback riding, ride the little train, and check out some new hiking trails.  If you like the outdoors, you should check em' out sometime.  www.beaversbend.com

While I was taking this picture I quickly prayed that I wouldn't see little eyes glowing in the shadows.  The next shot could have been some mountain lion jumping out at me or something.  Eeek!

This was the last marker when we finally reached the end of that long trail.  See the road in the background.  Whew!  Now back to our starting point, The Heritage Center.  Yay!

And then there was this sign right by it.  Ugggh!  Another 1/2 mile to go.  Seriously?  By this point, we had walked about 5 miles of uneven terrain.....in the rain.  I'm talking "practically doing lunges going up the mountain" uneven terrain.  And O.K., it didn't rain the entire time, but still.  ;)

Mini Session

Here is a Mini Session that I did for a friend from church.  Her little one will be turning one and she needed some quick pics to put on the invites for the party.  She was a great baby and had no problem devouring her birthday cupcake.  Fun!

It was time to take the cupcake away and, well..........she wasn't too happy about it.  :)

Fun with Friends

We had a day of fun with friends.  A good friend of mine has a little girl about the same age as my son.  I wanted to catch some images with the two of them together, but most of them were of her alone.  And that's cool b/c she is absolutely precious and I got some good shots for mom.  So have those play dates and get the camera ready.  Let the photojournalist in you take over and start clicking!

Baby Shaila

Did a photoshoot yesterday of 1 week old Baby Shaila.  Beautiful baby!  This little one did not want to sleep for us though.  She was awake the whole time and therefore wasn't always too happy with us trying to get her to "model" .  Dad was great helping out with the pacifier.  He would give her the pacifier, let her soothe herself, and then pop it out right quick so I could try and get a good shot.  Thanks Dad!  She did an awesome job and she had plenty of relaxed moments too.

During the session, mom went to go grab something while we were taking a break and I was holding Shaila to try and soothe her a little bit.  Ahhh!  The sights, sounds, and smells of a new baby.  So sweet, so innocent, and completely vulnerable.  I feel truly blessed and honored that God has given us the two that we have.  These days, nothings better than my 2 yr old coming up to me and saying, "love you sooo much!", or my 7 yr old making crafts that always say, "I love you Mommy and Daddy!".   They grow so fast folks!  If you have little ones, soak em' up as much as you can.  As a matter of fact, go give em' a big hug right now!  or...when they get home from school.  I know I am!
Great shoot and I can't wait to see Ms.Shaila in 6 months for the next session and see how much she's grown.

Engagement

Despite the nasty weather we were having here in FtWorth yesterday, we still managed to get a photo shoot in for a super cute couple, Katie and Wes.  It was drizzling most of the day and started to die down once we got the session under way.  Whew!  It ended up being a really nice evening and I had a great time.  These guys took some awesome pictures and I can't wait for the big day!

Signs of a new Season!

Hopefully the cool weather is behind us now and we can look forward to a warm Summer!  I took the kids out the other day to plant some strawberries and pink blueberries.  They're so excited to have given life to something and now watching it grow.  On another day, my son and I were outside counting how many caterpillars we could find on one of the trees. We ended up counting four and saw one that has started it's cocoon.  Needless to say, the little guy was pretty excited about it.
So I encourage you to get out and enjoy the nice weather! Lot of cheap entertainment out there.

New Offerings

It's a great day isn't it?  My first day with my blog and I'm exicted!
The weather is warming up and it's so nice outside.  With that being said.....what a great time to go out and take some great pictures!  While I was out enjoying the weather the other day, I took a picture of one of the new pendants I am offering to my customers.  This Tile Pendant is a little different than the original.  This one features a beautiful baby boy that I took pictures of a few months back.
